Speed, Not Prophecy: Momentum Indicators
Momentum indicators measure the speed of price movement, not the certainty of a reversal. Using too many of them often creates redundancy rather than confirmation.
Issue #7-3 corrects a common misunderstanding: momentum indicators do not predict turning points on command. They measure how quickly price is moving and whether that speed is increasing or fading.
The issue’s most practical contribution is its critique of indicator stacking. By showing how closely RSI, MACD, and Stochastic are related, it helps readers avoid the illusion of confirmation when they are really looking at the same information three times.
That makes this issue central to algo2alpha’s philosophy: use a compact, non-redundant toolkit where each indicator earns its place.
